What support does MontaVista provide?
MontaVista subscriptions come with Standard Support provided through the MontaVista Zone. The Zone provides product documentation, a searchable knowledgebase, online interactive tutorials, a known defect database, an interface for creating and managing support issues, and other resources. Standard Support allows for an unlimited number of support incidents. MontaVista maintenance and support covers MontaVista Linux edition components including the kernel, cross-compilers, debuggers, host and target applications, and tools for configuration, debugging, and development.
What additional support is available?
MontaVista offers additional support operations to address different support needs. Our Premium Support offers service goals and reduced response times. Managed Support and Dedicated Engineers Service is available to address high-touch business needs. For customers with extended product lifecycles, MontaVista offers Extended Support options.

Different support options are also available for semiconductor manufacturers, and for selected MontaVista distributors and partners.
How do I engage MontaVista support?
MontaVista Standard Support is provided through the MontaVista Zone, a support website, which provides access to a database of known defects, a question submission and management interface, and other resources. MontaVista Premium Support can be access through the MontaVista Zone, or through support email and phone contacts. Account Manager Service and Dedicated Engineering Service give you direct access to MontaVista professionals dedicated to your support needs. Please contact a MontaVista representative for more information.
How do I get help installing the product?
Installation support is included with the MontaVista Product Subscription and covered for 45 days after purchase. Information on how to contact support is available inside MontaVista Zone.
What if I need a patch?
The MontaVista Product Subscription includes maintenance for as long as the customer has a valid product subscription. All maintenance is provided via MontaVista Zone with some updates provided in RPM format and kernel updates provided in patch format.
Does MontaVista use license management?
For MontaVista DevRocket 5.0, MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Edition 5.0, and MontaVista Mobilinux 5.0, MontaVista is using license management with FlexLM™. Instructions on how to obtain, fulfill and use licenses is available in MontaVista Zone.
How does MontaVista release LSPs?
MontaVista does a major release for each MontaVista Linux product edition approximately once a year. Each initial release has a core set of LSPs in order to provide base toolchain and architecture support for all new features. Then MontaVista releases additional LSPs supported on that specific release on a regular basis and makes them available to customers on MontaVista Zone. Customers get access to any newly released LSPs for their specific architecture for which they purchased.
